If you are starting from the historic Main Street area in St. Charles, head south on Main Street towards the riverfront. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Boone's Lick Road. Turn right onto Boone's Lick Road and follow it until you see the entrance to the Katy Trail on your left. The trailhead is well-marked and features a parking area, restrooms, and a map of the trail.

From the St. Charles City Hall, head east on 5th Street towards the Missouri River. Once you reach the river, turn left onto Riverfront Park Drive. Continue south until you reach the Katy Trail entrance. You can rent bikes at several locations on Main Street if you need one. The trail is accessible right from the riverfront, making it an easy transition from city to the scenic Katy Trail.

If you are near the St. Charles Convention Center, take the MetroBus Route 49 towards the St. Louis area. Get off at the Main Street and 5th Street stop. From there, walk south on Main Street towards the riverfront. After a few blocks, turn right onto Boone's Lick Road, and you will find the Katy Trail entrance on your left.
