The Eternity Memorial Complex in Chișinău is a poignant and expansive memorial park dedicated to the soldiers who died in the Great Patriotic War and other conflicts. Inaugurated on May 9, 1975, the complex, formerly known as the Victory Memorial, commemorates the 30th anniversary of the Soviet victory in World War II. It was built on the site of three old cemeteries: Lutheran, Orthodox, and Lipovan.The most prominent feature is the 25-meter high pyramid, composed of five bayonets symbolizing the five years of the war. These stylized rifles, made of black and red granite, bear the years 1941-1945. An eternal flame burns at the center, a perpetual reminder of the fallen. The complex incorporates a military cemetery, stone steles depicting war stages, and marble stands engraved with soldiers' names. Other elements include a symbolic belfry and a monument to the War of Independence of 1991-1992.Visitors can explore the grounds, reflecting on Moldova's history and the sacrifices made for peace.
