The tank, with tactical number 125 and the inscription 'For the Motherland', reached Hungary and distinguished itself in the fierce battles near Lake Balaton.The decision to create the memorial complex was made in the early 1970s, with the participation of various organizations, enterprises, and educational institutions in the city. The complex was opened on Defender of the Fatherland Day in 1972.
