Tank Monument: A Symbol of History and Remembrance

The Tank Monument in Tiraspol stands as a powerful reminder of the region's complex history. Inscriptions and symbols around the base commemorate the events and heroic acts of the war.The Tiraspol 'thirty-four' was commanded by Guard Junior Lieutenant Boris Vasilyevich Sergeev and was part of the 649th Separate Communications Battalion of the 7th Mechanized Corps. The tank, with tactical number 125 and the inscription 'For the Motherland', reached Hungary and distinguished itself in the fierce battles near Lake Balaton.The decision to create the memorial complex was made in the early 1970s, with the participation of various organizations, enterprises, and educational institutions in the city. The complex was opened on Defender of the Fatherland Day in 1972.
