Getting There

• Car

  If you have a car, start from the center of Ulaanbaatar. Head southeast on Peace Avenue (Чингисийн Өргөн Чөлөө) and follow signs towards the Bogd Khan Mountain area. Continue on this road for approximately 15 km until you reach the entrance to the Bogd Khan Mountain National Park. There is a small fee to enter the park, typically around 5,000 MNT (Mongolian Tugrik). Once inside the park, follow the signs towards Bogdkhan Mountain Village, which is approximately 10 km from the entrance.

• Public Transportation

  For travelers using public transportation, head to the bus station in Ulaanbaatar. Look for buses heading to 'Bogd Khan Mountain' or any service that goes towards Zaisan. You may need to take bus number 10 or 19. The fare is usually around 1,000 MNT. Get off at the Zaisan Memorial stop, then look for a shared taxi (usually minivans) that can take you to the entrance of Bogd Khan Mountain National Park. The taxi ride will cost around 5,000 MNT. Once at the park entrance, follow the signs to Bogdkhan Mountain Village, which is another 10 km inside the park.

• Walking

  If you are already within the vicinity of Bogd Khan Mountain and prefer to walk, head towards the main trails leading into the national park. Make sure to have a map or GPS on your phone, as the trails can be less marked. The distance from the nearest trailhead to Bogdkhan Mountain Village is approximately 5 km. Wear appropriate hiking shoes and carry water, as the terrain can be rugged.
