From any location in the Eastern Steppe, head towards the town of Tsetsen-Uul. This journey can take around 2 to 3 hours depending on road conditions. Once you reach Tsetsen-Uul, take the road heading northeast towards the Khentii Mountains. Follow the signs leading to the Khentii region. The drive will take you through scenic landscapes, and you may need to navigate some unpaved roads. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for rough terrain. You may also need to pay a small fee for road maintenance at checkpoints along the way.
Public Transportation
Start your journey by taking a bus or minivan from the main city in the Eastern Steppe to the town of Tsetsen-Uul. The buses usually depart in the morning and the fare is approximately 10,000 MNT (Mongolian Tugrik). Once in Tsetsen-Uul, you will need to hire a local taxi or arrange for a shared ride to the Khentii Mountains. Expect to pay around 20,000 MNT for this short trip, which will take about an hour. It is advisable to negotiate the price beforehand.
