If you are driving from the center of Ikh Nuur Basin, head west towards Kharkhorin. Follow the main road for approximately 80 kilometers. Once you reach Kharkhorin, look for signs directing you to Erdene Zuu Monastery. The monastery is located at the coordinates 47.2012243 latitude and 102.8409825 longitude, which will guide you to '6R2R+F9Q, Kharkhorin, Ovorkhangai'. Once in Kharkhorin, the monastery is a short drive from the town center, about 5-10 minutes depending on traffic. Parking is available right outside the monastery.
Public Transportation
To reach Erdene Zuu Monastery via public transport, first take a bus or shared minivan from Ikh Nuur Basin to Kharkhorin. The journey typically takes around 2 hours and costs approximately 5000 MNT (Mongolian Tugrik). Once you arrive in Kharkhorin, you can either take a taxi (which should cost around 2000 to 3000 MNT) or walk to the monastery, which is about 2 kilometers from the bus station. Follow the signs towards the monastery or ask locals for directions to ensure you stay on the right path.
