Car
If you are driving from the center of Khar Nuur, head southeast on the main road. Continue for approximately 15 kilometers, following signs for Töv. You will pass through scenic countryside, so keep your camera ready! As you approach Lake Khar, look for a small sign indicating the turn-off to the lake. Turn left and follow the dirt road for about 5 kilometers until you reach the lake's edge. Ensure your vehicle has good clearance as the road can be bumpy.
Public Transportation (Minibus)
From the main bus station in Khar Nuur, locate the minibus heading towards Töv. The fare is typically around 2,000 MNT (Mongolian Tugrik). The journey will take about 30-40 minutes. Inform the driver that you want to get off at Lake Khar; they are usually very familiar with the area. Once you reach the nearest stop, you will need to walk for about 1 kilometer to reach the lake.
Taxi
You can also hire a taxi from anywhere in Khar Nuur. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand; it should cost around 20,000 MNT to Lake Khar. The drive will take about 20 minutes. Ensure the driver knows the specific location of Lake Khar as some taxis may be unfamiliar with the area.
Bicycle
For the more adventurous, renting a bicycle in Khar Nuur is a fantastic way to reach Lake Khar. Follow the same route as if driving, which is approximately 20 kilometers.
