If you are traveling by car, start your journey from the nearest major town, which is Tsetserleg in Arkhangai Province. From Tsetserleg, head south on the A-1 highway towards the Khangai Mountains. This route is approximately 50 kilometers and takes about 1 hour. The road may be bumpy in places, so ensure your vehicle is in good condition. Once you reach the foothills of the Khangai Mountains, you can choose to drive further into the mountains on local dirt roads, leading you to various trails for hiking and sightseeing.

For those opting for public transportation, take a minibus (also known as a 'marshrutka') from Ulaanbaatar to Tsetserleg. Buses leave regularly from the Bayanzurkh bus station and the fare is around 25,000 MNT (about $9). The journey to Tsetserleg takes roughly 8 to 10 hours. Once in Tsetserleg, you can hire a taxi or look for local transport options to take you to the Khangai Mountains, which is about a 1-hour drive away. Expect to pay approximately 10,000–15,000 MNT ($3-$5) for the taxi ride.
