Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the main road in Orkhon Valley. Head towards the direction of Burgaasatayn Hiid. The coordinates for Orkhon Waterfall are approximately 46.776298 latitude and 101.962546 longitude. Follow the road signs to Burgaasatayn Hiid, which is about 15 km from the nearest town. After approximately 10 km, you will reach a fork; take the left path. Continue straight for another 5 km, and you will see signs for the waterfall. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for gravel roads.
Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, take a minibus (locally known as a 'marshrutka') from the nearest town to Burgaasatayn Hiid. The bus station is located in the center of town, and buses typically leave every hour. Ask the driver to drop you off at the closest point to Orkhon Waterfall. From there, you may need to hire a local taxi or arrange for a horse ride, as public transport does not go directly to the waterfall. Expect to pay around 10,000 MNT for the taxi ride.
Hiking
For adventurous visitors, if you are near Burgaasatayn Hiid, you can hike to Orkhon Waterfall. Start from the village and follow the river upstream. The hike is approximately 8 km and will take around 2-3 hours. Be sure to carry plenty of water and snacks, as there are no facilities along the way. Follow the riverbank, and you will eventually hear the sound of the waterfall.
