If you are driving, start from the nearest major city in the Selenge River Basin, which is Sukhbaatar. From Sukhbaatar, take the A-4 highway heading west towards Govi-Altai. After approximately 150 km, you will reach a junction where you will turn left onto a gravel road towards Gegeen Lake. Follow this road for about 20 km until you see signs for Gegeen Lake. The drive may take around 3 to 4 hours, depending on road conditions.
Public Transportation
For those relying on public transportation, start your journey in Sukhbaatar by taking a minibus (known as a 'marshrutka') heading towards Govi-Altai. The journey will take around 2 to 3 hours. After reaching Govi-Altai, you will need to hire a taxi or find a local bus that goes towards Gegeen Lake. The taxi ride will cost approximately 10,000 MNT and take about 30 minutes. Ensure you negotiate the fare beforehand.
