If you are traveling by car, start from Red Lodge, MT. Head south on US-212 E for about 17 miles. Look for the signs directing you to the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness area. Turn onto Forest Road 142 (also known as Wild Bill Lake Road), which is a well-maintained gravel road. Follow this road for approximately 4 miles, and you will reach the parking area for Wild Bill Lake. There are no fees for parking in this area.
