Walking
If you are starting from downtown Butte, begin at the corner of Park Street and Broadway Street. Head west on Broadway Street until you reach the roundabout. Continue straight through the roundabout onto West 5th Street. Follow West 5th Street as it curves slightly to the right and becomes Continental Drive. After about 0.7 miles, you will see the Berkeley Pit Visitor Center on your left at 300 Continental Dr. The viewing stand is located right next to the visitor center.
Public Transit
From the Butte Transit Center located at 2100 Harrison Ave, take the bus route 1 towards the West Side. Get off at the stop on Continental Drive (near the intersection with 3rd Street). From there, walk about 0.3 miles east along Continental Drive toward the Berkeley Pit Visitor Center, which will be on your right at 300 Continental Dr. The viewing stand is adjacent to the visitor center.
Bicycle
If you prefer to bike, start from the Butte Silver Bow Civic Center located at 155 W Granite St. Head south on S Wyoming St, then take a left onto W 5th St. Continue straight as West 5th St becomes Continental Drive. After about 1 mile, the Berkeley Pit Visitor Center will be on your left at 300 Continental Dr. The viewing stand is right next to the visitor center.
