Getting There

  • Public Bus

    If you are starting from downtown Columbia Falls, head to the nearest bus stop located at the intersection of Nucleus Avenue and 1st Street E. Catch the Flathead County Transit bus heading towards West Glacier. The bus will take you directly toward the West Glacier area. After approximately 30 minutes, disembark at the West Glacier stop. From there, walk for about 10 minutes along Glacier Route towards the Apgar Visitor Center.

  • Bicycle

    Rent a bicycle from a local shop in Columbia Falls. Start your journey on Nucleus Avenue heading west, which will take you toward Highway 2. Merge onto the bike lane on Highway 2 and follow it for about 6 miles. After reaching the West Glacier area, look for signs directing you to the Apgar Visitor Center. It should take around 30-45 minutes depending on your cycling speed.

    If you're up for a scenic walk, start at the center of Columbia Falls and head west on Nucleus Avenue. Continue straight until you reach Highway 2.
