From Columbia Falls, head to the nearest bus stop located at the intersection of Nucleus Ave and 5th St W. Board the Flathead County Public Transit bus heading towards West Glacier. The bus typically runs hourly, so check the schedule for exact departure times. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Make sure to inform the driver that you wish to get off at West Glacier. Once you arrive, you will be right at the entrance to the West Glacier area.
Bicycle
If you're up for a scenic ride, rent a bicycle from a local shop in Columbia Falls. Start on Nucleus Ave heading west, then turn left onto 13th St W, which will lead you to the Glacier Gateway. Continue straight as the road becomes Montana Highway 2. Follow the highway for about 7 miles until you reach West Glacier. The bike ride should take around 40-50 minutes, depending on your speed. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow all traffic laws.
Walking
For those who enjoy a long walk, you can start at the center of Columbia Falls by heading west on Nucleus Ave. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with 13th St W, and turn left. After about a mile, you'll reach the junction with Montana Highway 2. Cross over to the other side of the highway and continue following it westward for another 7 miles. This walk can take approximately 2 to 3 hours, so wear comfortable shoes and bring water.
