Car
If you are driving from any location around Flathead Lake, take US-93 S towards Kalispell. Continue on US-93 S for approximately 20 miles until you reach the junction with Highway 2. Merge onto Highway 2 E and follow it for about 8 miles. Look for the signs directing you to Hungry Horse and turn onto MT-40 E. Continue on MT-40 E for roughly 8 miles until you reach the town of Hungry Horse. From there, follow signs to the Great Bear Wilderness area, which is approximately 5 miles up the road from Hungry Horse.

To reach Great Bear Wilderness using public transportation, you can take the Flathead Valley Bus from various points around Flathead Lake to Hungry Horse.
