Getting There

  • Walking

    Start at the Great Falls Public Library located at 301 2nd Ave N. Exit the library and head south on 2nd Ave N towards 1st St N. Turn right on 1st St N, and continue walking until you reach the Missouri River. This should take about 15 minutes. Once you reach the river, you will see the River's Edge Trail. Follow the trail west along the river until you see the entrance to Black Eagle Memorial Island on your right. The walk along the trail is scenic and will take approximately 30 minutes.

    If you have a bike, start at the Great Falls Community Center located at 315 2nd St N. From there, head east on 2nd St N until you reach the intersection with 3rd Ave N. Turn left onto 3rd Ave N and continue straight until you reach the River's Edge Trail. Once on the trail, head west for about 1 mile until you reach Black Eagle Memorial Island. The biking route is flat and easy, making it a pleasant ride that should take about 20 minutes.
