Walking
From downtown Helena, head north on Last Chance Gulch toward 6th Ave. Take a left onto 6th Ave and continue until you reach the intersection with N Montana Ave. Turn right onto N Montana Ave. Follow N Montana Ave for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with E Custer Ave. Turn left onto E Custer Ave, and shortly after, take a right onto Lime Kiln Rd. Continue on Lime Kiln Rd for approximately 1.5 miles, and you will see the entrance to Mount Ascension Park on your left.
Biking
If you are near the Helena Bike Trail, start from the trailhead at the intersection of Last Chance Gulch and 6th Ave. Follow the bike trail north toward the Helena River, then connect to the trail that leads toward the north end of town. When you reach the intersection with N Montana Ave, head east and follow the road until you reach E Custer Ave. Turn left, then take a right onto Lime Kiln Rd. Continue biking on Lime Kiln Rd for about 1.5 miles until you arrive at Mount Ascension Park on your left.
Public Transit
Take the local bus service from the Helena Transit Center. Board Route 1 heading toward the Northside. Get off at the stop near N Montana Ave and E Custer Ave. From there, walk east on E Custer Ave and take a right onto Lime Kiln Rd. Continue along Lime Kiln Rd for about 1.5 miles, and you will reach the entrance of Mount Ascension Park.
