If you're starting from downtown Helena, make your way to North Last Chance Gulch Street and head north. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with 6th Avenue. Turn left onto 6th Avenue and walk until you reach the intersection with Hill Avenue. Turn right onto Hill Avenue and follow it as it curves into Dump Out Trail. Continue on Dump Out Trail until you reach the entrance to Mount Helena Park.

From downtown Helena, you can catch the local bus (check the Helena Regional Transit website for the latest schedule). Take the bus that heads towards North Montana Avenue. Get off at the stop near the intersection of North Montana Avenue and Hill Avenue. From there, walk east on Hill Avenue until it turns into Dump Out Trail, and follow the trail to Mount Helena Park.
