Start at the Whitefish City Center. Walk to the nearest bus stop for the Flathead County Public Transportation (Mountain Line). Take the bus heading towards the Big Mountain area. From the bus stop, follow the signs directing you to the Big Mountain Trailhead. The trailhead is about a 15-minute walk from the bus stop, located just off the main road. Look for trail markers and signs indicating the entrance to the trailhead.

Rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Whitefish. Start from the Whitefish City Center and head north on Highway 93. After about 1.5 miles, turn left onto Big Mountain Road. Continue on Big Mountain Road for about 4 miles until you reach the Big Mountain Resort area. Follow the signs to the Big Mountain Trailhead, which is located right off the main road. The entire bike ride should take approximately 30-40 minutes, depending on your pace.
