From the bus stop, follow the signs directing you to the Big Mountain Trailhead. The trailhead is about a 15-minute walk from the bus stop, located just off the main road. Biking
Rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Whitefish. Start from the Whitefish City Center and head north on Highway 93. After about 1.5 miles, turn left onto Big Mountain Road. Continue on Big Mountain Road for about 4 miles until you reach the Big Mountain Resort area. Follow the signs to the Big Mountain Trailhead, which is located right off the main road. The entire bike ride should take approximately 30-40 minutes, depending on your pace.
Walking
If you prefer to walk, start from the Whitefish City Center and head north on Highway 93. After about 1.5 miles, turn left onto Big Mountain Road. Continue walking along Big Mountain Road for about 4 miles until you reach the Big Mountain Resort area. Keep an eye out for trailhead signs along the way. This journey will take roughly 1.5 to 2 hours on foot, so be prepared with water and wear comfortable walking shoes.
