At this junction, you will see a sign indicating the direction to the Petrified Tree. Continue along this path, which is approximately 1 mile from the junction until you see the Petrified Tree sign.

    For those who have access to a bike, start at the Canyon Village area. Head south on the Grand Loop Road towards Norris Geyser Basin. As you ride, watch for wildlife and enjoy the scenery. After about 5 miles, keep an eye out for signs directing you towards the Petrified Tree. It's about a 2-mile detour from the loop road, so be sure to follow the signs carefully. Biking is a great way to cover more ground while enjoying the park.

    If you're coming from Mammoth Hot Springs, take the trail south towards the Tower Fall area. This is a longer hike, approximately 8 miles, but it's a beautiful trek through the forest. Be prepared with plenty of water and snacks for the hike.
