Getting There

Car
From Bighorn Basin, take US-14 W towards Cody. Continue on US-14 W for approximately 50 miles until you reach Cody, Wyoming. In Cody, you can stop for supplies or a meal before heading to Yellowstone. From Cody, take WY-120 S to the East Entrance of Yellowstone National Park. This scenic route will take you through beautiful landscapes and is about 65 miles long, taking approximately 1.5 hours. Once you arrive at the East Entrance, you will need to pay an entrance fee of $35 per vehicle, valid for 7 days.

Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, begin by taking a bus from Bighorn Basin to Cody. There are limited bus services available, so check local schedules ahead of time. Once in Cody, you can use a shuttle service that operates to Yellowstone National Park. There are several companies offering shuttles to the East Entrance of Yellowstone. Make sure to book your shuttle in advance as they can fill up quickly, especially during peak tourist seasons. The shuttle fare may vary, but you can expect to pay around $50 to $100 depending on the service chosen.

Combination of Car and Public Transportation
For those without a car, consider a combination approach. Take a local bus from Bighorn Basin to Cody. From Cody, you can either take a shuttle or rent a car from one of the local rental agencies. If you choose to rent a car, make sure to reserve ahead of time, especially during the summer months. The rental costs typically start at around $50 per day plus fuel and insurance.
