Getting There

Walking
From the Old Town of Kotor, head towards the main square, Trg od Oružja. Exit the Old Town through the North Gate and follow the road on your right (Kotor - Risan road). Continue straight for about 600 meters until you reach the intersection with the main road (E65). Cross the road and continue walking uphill towards the direction of the hill on your left. After approximately 1.2 kilometers, you will see a sign pointing towards Fort Vrmac on your left. Follow this path which will take you to the base of the fort, about a 20-minute uphill walk.

Public Transport
From Kotor, walk to the main bus station located near the Old Town. Take a local bus heading towards Tivat. Inform the driver that you would like to get off at Kavač. The bus ride will take about 20 minutes. Once you arrive in Kavač, walk approximately 1 kilometer uphill towards the fort. Follow the signs for Fort Vrmac, and you will reach the fort within 15-20 minutes of walking.

If you would like to bike from Kotor to Fort Vrmac, you can rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Kotor. Start from the Old Town and head towards the main road (Kotor - Risan road). Follow the road for about 2 kilometers until you reach the turn for Fort Vrmac. The uphill path will require some effort, but it will offer stunning views of the Bay of Kotor.
