Walking
Start at the main square in Kotor, Trg od Oružja, which is surrounded by historic buildings and cafes. From the square, head towards the northern exit of the square, passing by the Church of St. Nicholas on your right. Continue straight until you reach the end of the square and take a left onto the street called Njegoševa. Walk up this street, which slopes upwards, and you will soon see the signs directing you toward the Fortress of San Giovanni. Follow the signs as you continue to walk uphill. After about 10 minutes of walking, you will reach the entrance to the fortress. Instead of entering the fortress, look for a small pathway that leads to Gurdić Bastion on your left. It's a short walk from the fortress entrance, and you'll find yourself at Gurdić Bastion, where you can enjoy stunning views of Kotor and the surrounding area.
