Getting There

Walking
From the Old Town of Kotor, head towards the Sea Gate (Main Entrance) and exit the Old Town. Once outside, turn left and walk along the waterfront promenade. Continue walking until you reach the foot of the hill, where you will see the path leading up to San Giovanni (St. John Fortress). The pathway is well-marked with signs. Be prepared for a steep climb with around 1,350 steps. The journey takes approximately 30-45 minutes depending on your pace. Enjoy the views as you ascend!

If you are starting from the Kotor Bus Station, exit the station and head towards the main road, following signs for the Old Town. Walk towards the Old Town, entering through the Sea Gate. Once inside, navigate to the waterfront promenade and follow the same directions as above to reach the pathway leading up to San Giovanni.
