Getting There

• Public Transport

  From Merzouga, you can take a shared taxi (also known as a 'grand taxi') to Hassilabied. Shared taxis leave from the main taxi stand in Merzouga and will cost approximately 10-15 MAD per person. The journey takes about 10-15 minutes. Ask the driver to drop you at the entrance to the Sahara Desert.

• Guided Tour

  Consider joining a guided tour from Merzouga, which often includes transportation to the desert. Many tour companies offer packages that range from a few hours to several days. Prices typically start around 500 MAD for a half-day tour, including a camel ride and refreshments. Ensure you book in advance to secure your spot.

  For a unique experience, you can book a camel trekking tour that starts in Merzouga. Trekking typically begins at the edge of the desert, where you can ride a camel into the dunes.
