Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from Merzouga, head southwest on Route N10 towards Rissani. Continue on N10 for about 50 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Route N12. Turn right onto N12 and follow it until you reach Ouarzazate, which is approximately 200 kilometers away. Keep an eye out for directional signs as you approach Ouarzazate, where you will find the Morocco Desert Tour office located in the city center.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Ouarzazate via public transportation, take a bus from Merzouga to Rissani. Buses run regularly, and the fare is around 30 MAD. From Rissani, transfer to a bus heading to Ouarzazate. The journey will take approximately 5-6 hours in total, with a cost of about 100 MAD for the Rissani to Ouarzazate leg. Once you arrive in Ouarzazate, the Morocco Desert Tour office is easily reachable by foot, located in the city center.

• Taxi

  You can also hire a private taxi from Merzouga directly to Ouarzazate. This option is more expensive, costing around 600-800 MAD, but it offers you the flexibility to travel at your own pace. The journey takes about 4 hours. If you choose this option, make sure to negotiate the fare in advance.

• Shared Taxi (Grand Taxi)

  A shared taxi (or Grand Taxi) from Merzouga to Ouarzazate is a popular option. You can find these taxis at the main taxi stand in Merzouga. The fare is typically around 100-150 MAD per person, and the taxi will leave once it's full. This is a great way to meet fellow travelers and is usually faster than buses.
