Car
If you are traveling by car from any location in Zaër, start by heading south on the N9 highway towards Marrakesh. Continue on N9 for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the town of Asni. From Asni, follow the signs to Imlil, which is about 17 kilometers away. Once in Imlil, park your car at one of the designated parking areas, as the national park is not accessible by car beyond this point. Be prepared for a parking fee of around 10-20 MAD. From Imlil, you can start your trek into Toubkal National Park.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a bus from Zaër to Marrakesh. Buses typically leave from the central bus station and the fare is around 50 MAD. Once you arrive in Marrakesh, transfer to a bus heading to Asni, which costs about 20 MAD. After reaching Asni, take a taxi or shared minibus to Imlil (approximately 30 MAD). In Imlil, you'll need to walk to the entrance of Toubkal National Park, which is a short distance from the town center.
Taxi or Shared Minibus from Imlil
Once you arrive in Imlil, you can hire a local guide or take a shared minibus to the starting point of the trek into Toubkal National Park. Expect to pay around 100-150 MAD for a guide, which is highly recommended for navigating the trails safely. The trek to the base camp of Mount Toubkal usually takes about 5-7 hours, so prepare accordingly with water, snacks, and appropriate hiking gear.
