Getting There

  • Walking

    Start at the central bus station in Matola. Exit the station and head south on Avenida da República. Continue straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Avenida de Moçambique. Turn right onto Avenida de Moçambique and follow it for another 2 kilometers. You will see a sign for Workers Square on your left as you approach the city center of Maputo. Cross the road carefully and walk towards the square.

  • Bicycle

    Rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Matola. Begin at the Matola bus terminal and cycle south on Avenida da República. Continue for approximately 1.5 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Avenida de Moçambique. Turn right and proceed for about 2 kilometers. When you get to the city center, look for Workers Square on your left. Park your bicycle safely and enjoy the square.

  • Public Transport (Minibus)

    From anywhere in Matola, find a minibus (chapas) heading to Maputo. Board the chapa and inform the driver that you want to go to 'Centro de Maputo' or 'Workers Square'. The journey should take about 30 minutes depending on traffic. Once you arrive in the city center, disembark at the main bus stop near the CFM station. From there, it is a short walk to Workers Square; head straight for about 200 meters and you will see the square on your right.
