Walking
Start at the Matola Bus Station (Estação de Matola). From the bus station, head east on Avenida da República. Continue straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Avenida 25 de Setembro. Turn left onto Avenida 25 de Setembro and walk for approximately 2 kilometers until you reach the main roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Avenida Julius Nyerere. Continue walking straight; you will see Praça da Independência ahead on your right after about 1 kilometer.

If you are near the Matola Market (Mercado Municipal de Matola), start from there. Exit the market and head south towards Avenida 25 de Setembro. After about 500 meters, turn left onto Avenida 25 de Setembro. Walk straight for about 2.5 kilometers until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Avenida Julius Nyerere. Continue walking for about 1 kilometer, and you will find Praça da Independência on your right.

From any location in Matola, take a minibus heading towards Maputo (look for signs that say 'Maputo' or 'Cidade de Maputo'). Ask the driver to drop you off at the Praça da Independência stop or near the roundabout. Once you get off, walk straight along Avenida Julius Nyerere for about 1 kilometer.
