Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Matola, head east on Avenida da Juventude towards Avenida 25 de Setembro. Continue straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Avenida João Sitoe. Turn left onto Avenida João Sitoe and walk for about 1 kilometer. You will come to a bus terminal called Terminal de Transporte de Matola. From here, you can catch a minibus (chapas) heading towards Maputo. Board any chapa that indicates 'Maputo' and inform the driver that you want to get off near Tunduru Gardens. Once you reach the central area of Maputo, ask the driver to drop you off at the nearest stop to Tunduru Gardens. After disembarking, walk south for about 300 meters on Rua de 10 de Novembro until you reach the entrance to Tunduru Gardens on your right.

  • Minibus (Chapa)

    Start at any central location in Matola and make your way to Terminal de Transporte de Matola. Board a chapa marked for Maputo. The journey to Maputo will take around 30-40 minutes depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Maputo, get off at the stop near the Praça dos Heróis Moçambicanos. From there, walk south on Avenida George Washington for about 600 meters. Turn right onto Rua de 10 de Novembro and continue walking for about 300 meters. Tunduru Gardens will be on your left.

  • Bicycle

    If you have access to a bicycle, you can cycle from Matola to Tunduru Gardens. Begin your journey by heading east on Avenida da Juventude towards Avenida 25 de Setembro. Continue cycling straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach Avenida João Sitoe. Turn left onto Avenida João Sitoe and cycle for about 1 kilometer to reach Terminal de Transporte de Matola. From there, you can board a chapa to Maputo as described above. Alternatively, you can continue cycling into Maputo, following the main roads until you reach the intersection with Rua de 10 de Novembro, then head south for another 300 meters to reach Tunduru Gardens.
