Getting There

Car
If you're driving from Beira, take the EN6 highway towards Chimoio. After approximately 180 kilometers, turn onto the EN1 highway heading towards Gorongosa. Continue for about 60 kilometers until you reach the turnoff for Parque Nacional da Gorongosa. Follow the signs leading to Chitengo, where you will find Montebelo Gorongosa Lodge & Safari located at 29C2+5WQ.

Public Transportation
From Beira, you can take a long-distance bus heading towards Chimoio. The bus will drop you off at a junction near the EN1 highway. From there, you will need to find a taxi or a local transport (chapa) to take you to Parque Nacional da Gorongosa. Make sure to inform the driver you want to go to Chitengo, where the lodge is located. Expect to pay around 100-200 MZN for the taxi ride.

Chapas are a common and affordable form of transportation in Mozambique. From any town in Sofala Province, head to the nearest chapa station and find a chapa heading towards Chitengo or Gorongosa. Once you arrive in Chitengo, you can either walk to the lodge (if you are within a reasonable distance) or take a local taxi. The chapa fare should be around 50-100 MZN.
