Public Bus
From downtown Yangon (Sule Pagoda area), walk to the nearest bus stop and catch a bus heading towards Mingalar Taung Nyunt Township. Look for bus numbers 20 or 29, which frequently run along this route. Inform the conductor that you want to get off at Kandawgyi Lake. The journey should take about 30 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you get off, walk towards Kandawgyi Lake; Karaweik Palace will be visible from the lakeside.

Rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops near the downtown area, such as near Sule Pagoda. Head east towards Anawrahta Road and continue straight until you reach the intersection with Pyay Road. Turn left onto Pyay Road and follow the signs to Kandawgyi Lake. Once you arrive at the lake, cycle around the perimeter until you reach Karaweik Palace, which is located on the eastern side of the lake.

If you are staying nearby, simply walk to Kandawgyi Lake. Locate the entrance to the lake compound, which is usually marked. Upon entering, follow the path around the lake. Karaweik Palace is situated prominently on the eastern side, so you can’t miss it. The walk offers beautiful views and is approximately 1.5 kilometers from the city center.
