Car
From Swakopmund, head north on the B2 highway. Continue on the B2 for about 40 kilometers (approximately 25 miles) until you reach the turnoff for the C34 road towards Cape Cross. Turn left onto the C34 and follow the road for about 30 kilometers (approximately 18 miles) until you see signs for Cape Cross Seal Reserve. The entrance to the reserve will be on your right. Please note that there is an entrance fee of around 80 NAD for adults.
Public Transportation
From Swakopmund, you can take a taxi or shuttle service to Cape Cross. Look for local transportation services that offer trips to Cape Cross, as they are often available at the main taxi rank. Confirm with the driver that they are heading to the Cape Cross Seal Reserve. The ride should take about 1 to 1.5 hours depending on traffic. Make sure to ask about the return schedule to ensure you have a way back. The cost for the shuttle service is generally around 200 NAD per person.
Combination of Car and Walking
If you are already in the vicinity of Cape Cross, you can drive to the reserve using the C34 road. Once you reach the entrance, park your vehicle and prepare to walk into the reserve. The seal colony is easily accessible on foot from the parking area. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes as you may need to walk on uneven terrain to get close to the seals.
