Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start from Windhoek, the capital city of Namibia. Take the B1 highway north towards Okahandja. The journey is approximately 70 kilometers and should take around 50 minutes. Once you reach Okahandja, continue on B1 until you see the sign for Gross Barmen, which is about 15 kilometers west of the town. Follow the signs leading to Gross Barmen Hot Springs Resort. The resort is located at Gross Barmen, 10010, Okahandja. Be aware that you may encounter a toll fee on the B1 highway.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, take a long-distance bus from Windhoek to Okahandja. Several bus companies operate this route and the journey takes about an hour. Once you arrive in Okahandja, you can hire a taxi or use a local shuttle service to get to Gross Barmen, which is approximately 15 kilometers from the bus station. Ensure you negotiate the fare before starting your journey to avoid any surprises.

• Taxi

  If you are already in Okahandja, you can easily take a taxi to Gross Barmen Hot Springs Resort. Taxis are readily available in the town. The distance is roughly 15 kilometers, and the fare should be negotiated in advance. Expect to pay around 200-300 Namibian dollars (NAD) for the trip, depending on the time of day and the taxi service.

• Combination of Public Transport and Taxi

  Alternatively, you can take a local taxi from various points in Erongo to the nearest bus station in Windhoek, then catch a bus to Okahandja as mentioned earlier. Once in Okahandja, use a taxi to reach Gross Barmen. This option may take longer but is economical if you are traveling alone or in a small group.
