Getting There

  • Car

    From Etosha National Park, exit the park via the Anderson Gate. Once you leave the park, head south on the B1 road towards Otjiwarongo. Continue on the B1 for approximately 170 kilometers. As you approach Otjiwarongo, look for signs indicating the turnoff to Okonjima Nature Reserve. The reserve is located about 20 kilometers south of Otjiwarongo. Follow the signs to the reserve entrance, where you will find a reception area.

  • Public Transportation

    If you're using public transportation, you will need to take a taxi or shuttle from your accommodation in Etosha National Park to the nearest town, which is Outjo. From Outjo, take a taxi or bus to Otjiwarongo. Once in Otjiwarongo, you can arrange for a taxi to take you to Okonjima Nature Reserve. It's advisable to book your transportation in advance, as there may be limited options. Expect to pay around 50 Namibian dollars (NAD) for the taxi from Otjiwarongo to Okonjima.
