To reach Viewpoint Barab from Opuwo, head northwest on the C35 road towards Kaokoland. After approximately 90 kilometers, you will arrive at a junction near the village of Sesfontein. Take the turnoff towards the D3700 road. Continue on this road for about 50 kilometers until you reach the D3701 road. Then, turn onto the D3701 heading southwest. Drive for another 30 kilometers until you see signage for Viewpoint Barab. The viewpoint is located around 19 kilometers from the main road, so be prepared for a rougher terrain leading to the viewpoint.
Public Transportation
Public transport options in Kaokoland are limited. From Opuwo, you can take a local taxi or shuttle service towards Sesfontein. Once you reach Sesfontein, you may need to hire a local guide or driver with a 4x4 vehicle to take you to Viewpoint Barab. The journey from Sesfontein to Viewpoint Barab is approximately 50 kilometers and will likely take 1-2 hours depending on road conditions. Be sure to negotiate the fare ahead of time, which could range from 500 to 1000 Namibian Dollars depending on the driver.
