• Car

  To reach Khowarib Lodge by car from any location in Kaokoland, first ensure you have a reliable 4x4 vehicle, as many roads in the area can be rough and unpaved. From the town of Sesfontein, head southwest on the C43 road for approximately 50 kilometers. After about 30 kilometers, you will come to a fork; take the left fork to continue on the C43. After another 20 kilometers, you will see signs for Khowarib Lodge. Follow these signs, and you will arrive at the lodge, which is located at approximately -19.2600936 latitude and 13.87751 longitude.

• Public Transportation

  If you're using public transportation, your best option is to take a shuttle or taxi from the nearest major town, which is Opuwo, to Sesfontein. From Opuwo, take a taxi to Sesfontein, which is around a 2-hour drive and may cost approximately N$100-150. Once in Sesfontein, you can either arrange for a local taxi or tour operator to take you to Khowarib Lodge, or if you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a 4x4 vehicle in Sesfontein and drive the remaining distance, following the same route as mentioned above.

Many tour operators in Namibia offer packages that include pick-up from your accommodation in Opuwo or other towns in Kaokoland. This option typically costs more but includes guided experiences along the way, ensuring you don't miss out on the stunning landscapes and local culture.
