Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Rundu, the largest town in Kavango East. Head north on the B10 road towards Divundu. After approximately 90 km, you will reach Divundu. From Divundu, take the C49 road heading east towards Bwabwata National Park. The park entrance is roughly 30 km from Divundu. Make sure to have cash on hand for the park entrance fee, which is around N$ 80 per person. Ensure your vehicle has enough fuel and supplies as services are limited in the park area.
Public Transportation
To reach Bwabwata National Park via public transport, you can take a minibus taxi from Rundu to Divundu. The journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive in Divundu, you'll need to hire a local taxi or arrange for a guided tour to take you to the park entrance, which is about 30 km away. Make sure to negotiate the fare with the taxi driver beforehand. Keep in mind that the total cost for the minibus fare is approximately N$ 50, and the taxi to the park may cost an additional N$ 200 or more depending on the distance and negotiation.
Guided Tour
Another option is to book a guided tour from Rundu, which usually includes transportation to and from Bwabwata National Park. This can be arranged through local tour operators, and it's an excellent way to ensure a hassle-free experience. Prices for guided tours can vary significantly, but expect to pay around N$ 1000 to N$ 2000 per person, which typically includes entrance fees and guided services.
