Getting There

Car
From Windhoek, take the B1 highway north towards Swakopmund. After approximately 350 km, you will reach the town of Swakopmund. Continue on the B2 road towards Henties Bay. About 30 km from Swakopmund, you will see signs for Cape Cross. Turn onto the C34 road towards Cape Cross. Follow the road for about 20 km until you reach the Cape Cross Seal Reserve. Be aware that entrance fees apply, which are approximately 80 NAD per person.

Take a bus from Windhoek to Swakopmund. Several companies operate this route, and it typically takes around 4-5 hours. Once in Swakopmund, look for a local taxi or shuttle service heading towards Cape Cross. The distance from Swakopmund to Cape Cross is about 30 km, and taxi fares can range from 300 to 500 NAD depending on the service. Make sure to confirm the fare before starting your journey. Again, be prepared to pay an entrance fee of approximately 80 NAD when you arrive at the reserve.
