If you're traveling by car, the most convenient route to Duwisib Castle is to start from the town of Mariental. From Mariental, head south on the B1 highway towards Keetmanshoop. After approximately 90 kilometers, take the exit towards the C12 road. Continue on the C12 for about 50 kilometers until you reach the junction with the Duwisib Castle road. Follow the signs to Duwisib Castle, which is about 10 kilometers off the C12 road. Make sure your vehicle has enough fuel and that you have a spare tire, as some sections of the road can be rough.
Public Transportation
For those relying on public transportation, the best option is to take a bus from Windhoek to Mariental. The journey takes approximately 4-5 hours. Once you arrive in Mariental, you can hire a taxi or arrange for a shuttle service to Duwisib Castle. Note that public transport options may be limited, so it’s advisable to check in advance and make reservations if possible. The taxi fare to Duwisib Castle from Mariental should be negotiated beforehand, and expect to pay around NAD 800-1000.
