If you are traveling by car, make your way to the main road (C14) leading through the Namib Desert. From the main entrance of Namib-Naukluft National Park, head south on the C14 for approximately 50 kilometers until you reach the turnoff for Dune 45. Follow the signs and take the gravel road for about 5 kilometers, which will lead you directly to the Dune 45 Viewpoint parking area. Parking is generally free, but ensure to arrive early to secure a spot, especially during peak tourist seasons.

For those relying on public transportation, the best option is to take a shuttle bus from Swakopmund or Windhoek to Sesriem. Shuttle services operate several times a week. Upon arriving in Sesriem, you can hire a local taxi or a guided tour to take you to Dune 45. The taxi ride will take approximately 45 minutes and costs around 600 NAD (Namibian Dollars). It's advisable to negotiate the fare beforehand and confirm the return trip with your driver.
