Car
From the Namib-Naukluft National Park entrance, head towards the town of Solitaire, which is approximately 60 km away and takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive in Solitaire, continue on the C14 road towards Nauchas. After about 25 km, you will reach the D1275 road. Turn left onto D1275 and follow it for approximately 10 km. You will see signs for Spreetshoogte Pass. As you approach the pass, the road will begin to rise steeply, providing stunning views of the Namib Desert.
Public Transportation
While public transportation options are limited, you can take a shuttle or tour bus from Windhoek to Solitaire. Once you reach Solitaire, you may need to arrange a private taxi to take you to Spreetshoogte Pass. Discuss the fare and confirm the trip duration (about 30 minutes) with the driver before departing. Ensure you have cash, as many drivers may not accept cards.
Bicycle
If you're up for an adventure, consider cycling to Spreetshoogte Pass. From Solitaire, take the C14 road towards Nauchas and then turn onto D1275. The journey will be challenging due to steep inclines, but the scenery is breathtaking. Make sure to bring plenty of water, snacks, and a repair kit for your bike.
