Getting There

• Walking

  If you are starting from the Okahandja town center, head east on the B1 road towards Windhoek. Walk along the main road, which is well-marked and has pedestrian pathways. Keep an eye out for local shops and cafes along the way, which can be good stops for refreshments. Continue straight until you reach the junction with the Rietfontein Street, which will lead towards Windhoek. You will walk approximately 3 kilometers. Once you get to the junction, turn left onto Rietfontein Street and continue walking until you reach Haven Zoological Park, which will be on your right side. The park is located at Rietfontein St, Windhoek.

• Public Transport (Bus)

  From the Okahandja bus station, look for a bus heading towards Windhoek. Buses are frequent and typically run every 30 minutes. Confirm with the bus driver that they stop at Rietfontein Street in Windhoek. The journey takes about 30-45 minutes. Once you arrive in Windhoek, disembark at the main bus stop. From there, you can either walk or take a taxi to Rietfontein Street. If walking, head southeast on Independence Avenue until you reach the intersection with Rietfontein Street. Turn left and walk for about 1 kilometer until you see Haven Zoological Park on your right.

  You can use a ride-hailing app or a local taxi service to get to Haven Zoological Park. Simply provide them with the destination: Rietfontein St, Windhoek.
