Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the Skeleton Coast National Park entrance. Drive south on the C34 road towards Swakopmund. After about 60 kilometers, you will see signs for Cape Cross. Take the turn-off to the west onto the D1913 road, which leads directly to Cape Cross Seal Reserve. The reserve is approximately 30 kilometers from the turn-off, and you will reach the entrance gate of the reserve. Be prepared to pay an entrance fee at the gate, which is typically around 80 Namibian Dollars per person.
Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, take a bus or shuttle from Swakopmund to Henties Bay. Several companies run this route. Once you reach Henties Bay, you will need to arrange for a taxi or local shuttle service to take you to Cape Cross Seal Reserve, which is about 50 kilometers north of Henties Bay. Ensure to confirm the fare with the driver before starting the trip, as prices can vary.
Taxi
For a more direct and convenient option, you can hire a taxi from Swakopmund to Cape Cross. This will be more expensive than public transport but offers the flexibility of leaving at your preferred time. The taxi ride will take approximately 1 hour and may cost between 600 to 800 Namibian Dollars. Make sure to negotiate and confirm the price before departure.
