Getting There

Walking
Start your journey at the Swakopmund Jetty, located at the end of Strand Street. From the Jetty, head south along the beach until you reach the main road, Strand Street. Turn left onto Strand Street and continue until you reach the intersection with the B2 highway. Cross the B2 highway to reach the opposite side where you will find the pedestrian walkway. Follow the walkway which leads toward the Walvis Bay area. Continue straight until you reach the junction with the D1986 Kovambo Nujoma Road. Turn left onto D1986 Kovambo Nujoma Road and follow the road until you see signs for Walvis Bay Lagoon. The Safe View Point 2 will be located on your right. The entire walk is approximately 15 kilometers, so be prepared for a long trek.

Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Swakopmund. Start at the Swakopmund Museum located on Anton Lubowski Street. Head towards the beach and take the cycle path along the coastline heading south. After approximately 6 kilometers, you will reach the B2 highway. Use the designated bike lane to cross the highway safely. Once on the other side, continue on the D1986 Kovambo Nujoma Road heading towards Walvis Bay. Follow the road for about 8 kilometers until you arrive at the Walvis Bay Lagoon Safe View Point 2, which will be on your right.

Public Transport
From Swakopmund, head to the main bus terminal located near the center of town. Look for a bus service that travels to Walvis Bay. Once you board the bus, inform the driver that you want to stop at the Walvis Bay Lagoon area. The trip should take about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive, walk towards the lagoon area; the Safe View Point 2 is located on the D1986 Kovambo Nujoma Road, which is a short walk from the bus stop.
