Once you arrive at the nearest stop, you can walk towards the yard by heading southeast on East 4th Street until you reach South Jeffers Street. Turn left and continue walking until you see the entrance to Union Pacific Bailey Yard.
Bicycle
From downtown North Platte, you can rent a bicycle from a local rental service. Start at the North Platte City Park located at 1700 East 4th Street. Head south on East 4th Street and follow it until you reach South Jeffers Street. Turn left on South Jeffers Street and continue riding south until you reach the entrance of Union Pacific Bailey Yard. The total distance is approximately 2 miles.
Walking
If you prefer to walk, start from the North Platte City Library located at 120 West 4th Street. Head west on West 4th Street until you reach South Jeffers Street. Turn right and walk north on South Jeffers Street. Continue walking for about 1.5 miles. You'll eventually see the Union Pacific Bailey Yard entrance on your right. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes, as this will take about 30-40 minutes.
