Start at the Omaha Central Station located at 1001 Dodge St, Omaha, NE 68102. From there, take the Metro Transit Route 2 bus heading towards 72nd & Dodge. Ride for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the stop at 72nd & Maple. At the Maple Street stop, transfer to Route 5 towards 144th & Maple. Continue on this route for about 15 minutes until you reach the stop at Old Maple Rd. Walk north on Old Maple Rd for about 5 minutes until you reach Heron Haven Nature Center, located at 11809 Old Maple Rd.

Bicycle
If you are near downtown Omaha, start by heading north on 10th Street. Continue to follow the bike lanes which will take you to Farnam St. Turn right onto Farnam St and continue until you reach 72nd Street. Turn left onto 72nd Street and follow it north. After about 3 miles, turn right onto Maple St and then left on Old Maple Rd. Ride for about 1 mile until you reach Heron Haven Nature Center, located at 11809 Old Maple Rd.

From the nearest landmark, such as the Omaha Community Playhouse at 6915 Cass St, head west on Cass St until you reach 72nd St. Turn left and head south on 72nd St for about 1 mile. When you reach Maple St, turn right and walk west for another mile. Finally, turn left onto Old Maple Rd and walk south for about 0.5 miles until you reach Heron Haven, which will be on your left.
