Car
From Pine Ridge, head northeast on NE-87 N for approximately 30 miles. This scenic drive will take you through some beautiful landscapes of Nebraska. Continue on NE-87 N until you reach the intersection with US-20 E. Turn right onto US-20 E, and follow this road for about 18 miles. After that, take the exit toward Chadron, and follow signs for Chadron. Nebraska National Forest is located just a few miles south of Chadron. You will see signs for the forest. The drive should take around 50 minutes to an hour, depending on traffic.

Public Transportation
If you're using public transportation, you can take a Greyhound bus from Pine Ridge to Chadron. The bus ride will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive in Chadron, you can either walk or take a local taxi service to reach Nebraska National Forest, which is about 10 minutes away by car. Please be aware that bus schedules may vary, so check the Greyhound website for the most current information and book your tickets in advance.
