From downtown Lincoln, head to the StarTran bus station at 10th and O St. Take the Route 44 bus towards 'West O Street' and get off at the 'North 27th St & Cornhusker Hwy' stop. From there, transfer to the Route 53 bus towards 'Gering' and ride it until you reach the 'Scotts Bluff National Monument' stop. Make sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time for exact times and frequency.

Rent a bicycle from one of the local bike rental shops in Lincoln. Start your journey by heading northwest on the N 27th St bike lane. Continue on N 27th St until you reach the intersection with Highway 34. Follow Highway 34 west for approximately 3 miles until you reach Gering. Once in Gering, look for the signs directing you to Scotts Bluff National Monument. It's about a 5-mile ride from the center of Gering to the monument entrance.
