Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, head towards Lincoln, Nebraska. From Sandhills, take Highway 83 South until you reach Interstate 80. Merge onto I-80 East towards Lincoln. Take exit 403 for 27th St and turn left onto 27th St. Continue for about 1.5 miles, then turn right onto H St. The Thomas P. Kennard Historic Site will be on your left at 1627 H St. There is free parking available on the street.

• Public Transportation

  For public transportation, you can take a Greyhound bus or a local transit service from various locations in Sandhills to Lincoln. Once you reach Lincoln's downtown area, use the StarTran public bus service. Take the '8' bus route towards 'Pioneers Park,' which stops near the historic site. Get off at the '27th and H St.' stop and walk one block east to reach the site at 1627 H St. Be sure to check the local transit schedules for the latest times and routes.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer to cycle, the city of Lincoln has a network of bike paths. You can rent a bike in the downtown area and follow the bike lanes heading toward H St. From downtown, take 27th St south until you reach H St. Turn right and continue until you arrive at the Thomas P. Kennard Historic Site at 1627 H St. Always wear a helmet and follow local cycling laws.

• Walking

  If you are staying in downtown Lincoln, you can easily walk to the Thomas P. Kennard Historic Site. Start from the downtown area and head south on 27th St. Walk for approximately 15 minutes until you reach H St. Turn right on H St, and the site will be on your left at 1627 H St. This is a pleasant walk if the weather is nice, as you can enjoy the local scenery.
